The Seventh BCWW 2007 Launches

Broadcasting content buyers and exhibition participants from all over the world will gather at COEX in Samsung-dong from Aug. 29 to 31 to join the BCWW (Broadcast Worldwide) 2008, Asia's largest comprehensive content distributional market, with broadcasting programs, new media content, animation, and telenovelas.

Hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (Minister: Kim, Jong-Min) and the Korean Broadcasting Commission (KBC, Chairman: Cho, Chang-Hyun), and sponsored by the Korean Broadcasting Institute (KBI, Director: Yu, Kyun), BCWW 2007 first started in 2001 with the goal to exchange broadcasting content worldwide and to promote international business cooperation in the global broadcasting sector. It now celebrates its seventh year.

Scheduled to be participated in by 250 companies from 30 countries, including BBC in the UK, NHK in Japan, and CCTV and SMG in China, the event will be a broadcasting expo wherein over 900 buyers and 5,000 media specialists are to showcase and buy and sell broadcasting content. This event is a unique opportunity for all to peek into the current trends in the global broadcasting content industry.

With the title "Driving Content Evolution in the Digital World", an international conference in which policy makers and industrial leaders in the global broadcasting industry discuss the present and the future of the industry, will be held simultaneously with BCWW 2007. Consisting of 22 sessions in five tracks, the conference is to be attended by 80 specialists from Korea and abroad, participating either as keynote speakers, presenters, and panelists.

These specialists are to present roadmaps in each division in the digital era, including content, platform, policy, and investment, and discuss issues that aim for the successful future of the industry.
