[Interview : Lee Chang-shin, Dong One] "The four food companies with their shared love of gugak first got together in 2004 to promote gugak to the public".

[Interview : Yun Ah-yeong, Executive producer] "This is the 8th "Gugak Love and Commentary Concert". The concert showcases a variety of music from traditional to fusion gugak. We wanted to make it fun and accessible to the public".

This unique performance featuring various genres of gugak was produced under the aim of promoting and developing the art form.

[Interview : Yun Ah-yeong, Executive producer] "It's a fun concert. Audience members who are used to seeing only Western orchestras will find it a refreshing change".

[Interview : Ji Ae-ri, Gayageum musician] "I played a piece titled "Jeongnamhuije Hwangbyeonggiryu". It is one of the most traditional pieces of Korean folk music".

[Interview : Ji Ae-ri, Gayageum musician] "The organizers specially requested traditional music. I am proud that people still care so deeply about tradition, and it motivates me to work even harder".

The performance showcased the true joy of Korean traditional music reinterpreted in modern styles.

[Interview : Ji Ae-ri, Gayageum musician] "We tried out a fusion of traditional and modern music. The diversity gave everyone an enjoyable time".

[Interview : Lee Chang-shin, Dong One] "We plan to keep promoting gugak both internationally and domestically as part of our corporate social responsibility. I hope the audience has fun and that afterwards they will think, 'I want to watch it again', rather than 'That was boring'."

Love that Snow White. Reminds me of when my dad got me a recording of a live musical version of Snow White that I played over and over again as a child.

And it's very refreshing to see that traditional Korean music is modernizing and also getting the attention of many different sponsors to preserve that part of our heritage.
