Thursday Is Korean Animation Day

From now on, cartoon enthusiasts in China will be able to enjoy watching Korean animated films every Thursday.

The Korea Culture and Content Agency's Chinese Office (Director: Kwon, Ki-Yeong) will be offering the "Korean Animation Program" every Thursday beginning on July 5 at the Beijing Korea Center.

Part of the plan to introduce excellent Korean animation in China and promote the exchange between the two countries and the interest of Chinese fans in Korea, this program will showcase excellent independently produced, short animated films in July, screening a wide variety of Korean animated films, from educational animations, TV animations, animations derived from comic books, dramas, and novels, to feature-length animated films.

Thanks to the office's proactive promotion of the program to animation-related schools, broadcasting companies, and communities in Beijing, this program is becoming hugely popular among Chinese animation fans. Also provided are events in which professors from animation schools in China or officials from local broadcasting companies or animation companies meet with aspiring animators and animation fans.
