"You may not know his name, but according to the YouTube stats, some 28 million of you have watched the video for his highly addictive song, 'Gangnam Style' in the month since it was uploaded", it wrote.

Time said the song and its "weird, wonderfully watchable" music video has now become a "certified viral hit", and a number of celebrities have started to take an interest in PSY since he has risen to "Internet superstardom".

The weekly pointed out that the singer's appearance and dance moves create "sort of a twist" by comically juxtaposing different styles.

The weekly also introduced a second version of "Gangnam Style" released by the singer on Wednesday called "Oppa Is Just My Style". It said the music video featuring Hyun-a of K-pop girl group 4minute is a "glitzier, glossier and more choreographed video than the original".
