TV celebrity Shin Jung-hwan, 35, who is currently staying overseas on suspicion of a gambling problem, is expected to return home late this month.
Local media said that his friend Tak Jae-hoon has persuaded Sin to return to Korea in a phone call, while offering him encouragement.
Sin eventually informed him of his intention to be back in Seoul late this month, according to the media.
Tak sent a video letter to Sin on an SBS entertainment program, Evening After Evening. "I hope that you will come back and talk about your position as soon as possible as many people worry about you", Tak said in the video letter.
A close friend of Sin said the entertainer would be sent to a hospital upon arrival at the airport. He had a metal pin inserted for a fractured leg after a traffic accident but it broke and he should have already had an operation to correct this, according to his friend.
It is reported that Sin can hardly walk due to the troubled leg.

신정환은 귀국과 동시에 병원으로 직행할 것으로 보인다. 교통사고 후 다리에 철심을 박았지만, 철심이 부러져 재수술을 받아야 하지만 그 시기를 놓쳤기 때문이다.
현재 제대로 걸음조차 걷지 못하고 있는 것으로 전해졌다.
