U.S., European Broadcasters to Buy Korean Content

The Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency says the world's top broadcasters from the U.S. and Europe will attend the 2nd Gwangju ACE Fair 2007, which will be held Sept. 13-16, to search for ways to purchase Korean culture content.

According to the agency, 168 companies from Korea and abroad will participate in the event, including the U.S. broadcaster Fox TV, the largest French premium broadcaster CANAL+, and Imaginasian Entertainment, which has successfully aired Asian shows across the United States.

More than 60 overseas companies from 17 countries will participate, including eight Indian firms and companies from China, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore -- the largest number of companies among similar exhibitions.

A KOTRA official said the event is expected to spread the popularity of Korean culture overseas once broadcasters from various countries of the world buy and air Korean shows in their respective countries.
