Upcoming KBS drama "The King's Face" vs. plagiarism claims from "The Face Reader"

MBC has run into a wall with going forward with a drama. An issue has been brought up regarding KBS plagiarizing the movie "The Face Reader" and MBC could bring this issue to square one.

Jupiter Films and MBC have been talking about making a drama out of "The Face Reader". However, when issues about KBS "The King's Face" plagiarizing the movie came up, MBC wondered if there was a need to make a drama with the same source and subject.

An MBC source said, "We haven't decided if we're going through with the drama. We are being done harm because of the plagiarism issue, but there might be no need to make a drama similar to KBS". KBS claimed "The King's Face" and "The Face Reader" have a different plot, but many wonder how popular a drama with the subject matter of face reading might be again.

The production of "The Face Reader" has submitted an injunction against KBS. It claims that KBS has violated the prevention of unfair competition.
