The event hosted by the Korean Federation of Film Archives honors Kim's contribution to Korean film as she marks the 60th anniversary of her acting debut this year.

For the event, which runs through July 12, KOFA selected 20 of her best films, including documentaries, from among more than 370 in which she has appeared.

But the actress insists that figure's not even close. "The record may not be accurate. I think I have starred in more than 700 movies, which means I have had more than 700 different lives", the 77-year-old said at the event's opening on Thursday.

"I have enjoyed every moment of my work and worked hard for all these years. Sometimes I stop and pat myself on the back, thinking I really have tried", she added.

"Having said that, my work isn't done yet. There are always some regrets whenever I finish one. I think I'll always be that way, Kim said. "I look for new challenges and try to learn new things".
