[Video] Psy Vows to Do Topless Horse Dance if Song Tops Billboard Chart

PSY returned to Korea on Tuesday after a whirlwind U.S. visit promoting his runaway hit "Gangnam Style". He was greeted by throngs of fans at the airport and held a press conference at a hotel in Gangnam, southern Seoul with around 100 reporters from Korea, as well as the U.S., France, and Singapore attending.

"I was told in the U.S. that I was like 'Austin Powers'," PSY said. "It's funny that even though I'm a singer, I became successful by being funny. But I think it's true that it all started because I was able to make people laugh".

Over the last three weeks, PSY appeared on popular U.S. TV programs, such as the "Ellen DeGeneres Show" and the "Today Show", singing his hit song and doing his trademark horse dance in front of throngs of American fans.

"Gangnam Style" presently ranks No. 1 on the iTunes music charts in 30 countries around the world, including the U.S., Canada, Denmark and the Netherlands, and has risen to 11th place on the Billboard Top 100.

"It's been 12 years since I debuted as a singer and I had no idea this would be the prime of my career", he said. "I still can't believe the things that are happening to me right now. To be honest, I wonder if all of this is just some wild prank".

He said the two questions he was asked the most in the U.S. were what "Gangnam" means, and how to do the horse dance. "I told them that 'Gangnam Style' does not have any special meaning, and is not meant to be sarcastic. It is simply a fun song and that's all there is to it".

PSY was not shy about his hopes of reaching the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top 100 chart. "I remember getting really excited when it ranked 64th. But now I'm getting a little bit excited about possibly making the No. 1 spot", he said. "If it does make it to the top spot, I want to set up a makeshift stage in front of a lot of people and perform 'Gangnam Style' topless".

PSY will stay in Korea for the time being to do the run of local TV programs before he returns to the U.S. next month to continue promoting his song there.

"I don't know if it'll be a new single or a full-length album, but I plan to put out an album in the U.S. by the end of November", PSY said. "The first album will probably be recorded in Korean and the second one in English".
