"We will be re-born as an integrated digital content creator!"

Korea's leading CGI studio Independence (CEO: Cho, Jae-Su) enhances its international competitiveness with its take-up of state-of-the-art technology.

Independence, whose "Wonderful Days" is considered to have led Korea's advancement in CG technology, has recently introduced state-of-the-art equipment by Autodesk, a global leader in 2D and 3D technology, to consolidate its image as a global content creator.

Since its establishment, Independence has accumulated the necessary technologies as it undertook large-scale advertising and visual effect projects for major companies in Korea. With such a portfolio of high-profile projects, it has expanded its business to film, animation, new technology development, CGI education, and cultural product development.

As a result, Independent's animation, such as "Egg Cola" and "Tree Robo", have been awarded with major prizes in festivals including Baraford Animation Festival (BAF) 2005 in the UK, which recognized the technology and quality of works by Independence. Although it did not succeed in the box office, Independence's "Wonderful Days" has received a favorable response from critics for its CGI. Recently, Independence's state-of-the-art technology has been showcased in "Welcome to Dongmakgol", a box-office hit film that heavily used then the best possible CG techniques.

With the introduction of Autodesk equipment, Independence believes that it can offer unlimited possibilities with its highly creative animation artists and also improve the quality of animation.

Furthermore, the new advanced equipment can reduce time and cost and maximize productivity.

"The introduction of state-of-the-art technology is directly related to global competitiveness", said Lee, Ji-Yoon, Chief Director of Independence's CM Business Center. "In the future, Independence will further grow as an integrated digital content creator whose business combines all areas related to digital image and visual creation".
