Hosted by the Minister of Culture and Tourism and co-led by Korea Culture and Contents Technology Association (KOCTA), Korean Society for Emotion and Sensibility (KOSES), and Human Contents Association, the 2007 CT Joint Symposium was held last November 21 at the International Summit Hall of the Press Center in Sinmunro.

Aiming to provide a venue for a fruitful exchange of ideas among specialists in various fields, including the humanities, engineering, arts, and design, and to promote joint studies for the establishment and advancement of CT, the 2007 CT Joint Symposium secretariat invited renowned specialists in the aforementioned fields who, in line with this year's theme? The Era of Convergence: The Present and Future of CT?analyzed the phenomena of convergence from various angles and discussed issues related to the consolidation of CT competitiveness.

At the first part of the symposium (Keynotes), Kim, Dong-Hee, Executive Director of Pandora TV (KOCTA), gave a presentation on "The Present and Future of CT Based on UCC Technologies". He was followed by Lee, Gyon-Pyo, a KAIST (Chair, KOSES) professor, and Kim, Yeong-Ae, CEO of Dahal Media (Human Contents Association), who analyzed the convergence phenomena from the perspective of emotion and sensibility in science and the humanities, respectively. "Convergence is a concept that has long existed in Korea's traditional culture, and what we have to do in the face of the continuous change of paradigms is to try to have an accurate understanding of the nature of Korean culture", said Kim. On the other hand, Lee stressed that "CT will become the heart of emotional design in the future, in which the fusion of technologies, media, and experiences will be witnessed".
