Expectations for season 3 of Netflix's original drama "Kingdom" are increasing day by day.

"Kingdom" is a mystery thriller about a Joseon in crisis due to the dead having come back to life and become a living hell, the greed of the Cho family, who covet the throne, and the struggle of prince who has no one to trust. It was unveiled for the first time on January 25th last year, and once again, season 2 was released in March this year, drawing keen attention worldwide.

"Kingdom", directed by Kim Seong-hun and written by Kim Eun-hee-I, cast actors Ju Ji-hoon, Bae Doona, Ryu Seung-ryong, Kim Sang-ho, Huh Joon-ho, Jun Suk-ho and Kim Hye-jun, who starred in season 2 as well as season 1. In season 2, top star Jun Ji-hyun took the finale and had been an hot topic since before the actual broadcast. The drama was perfected with the addition of producer Park In-je in the second season.

Season 2 was evaluated as the upgraded version of season 1 and ended with an open ending. Netflix didn't reveal the exact numbers, but according to sources, the viewership surpassed the existing record.

The 10 million movie "Train to Busan", which was released in July 2016, is called the beginning of the K-Zombie craze, along with the assessment that it has opened a new horizon for Korean zombie movies. It is no exaggeration to say that "Kingdom", which was introduced three years later, culminated in the K-Zombie Syndrome. Based on the original concept of 'Joseon Dynasty Zombies' the Joseon Dynasty hat called a 'gat' gained explosive attention as well.

Even the production and cast want a third season of "Kingdom".

In an interview in March, director Park In-je said, "I can't say anything, as it is Kim Eun-hee-I writing the scenario. I look forward to season 3 as a fan myself and personally wonder what's going to happen to Jun Ji-hyun in the next season, what will happen to the prince and what the new characters are going to be like. Everything is up to the writer".

Ju Ji-hoon, who acted out the character Prince Yi Chang, showed strong determination to be in season 3 and said, "I want to work with Jun Ji-hyun. I also heard from the writer that the story has become a bigger spectacle. I do hope season 3 is born, and Netflix will only move as long as the viewers want it".

The "Kingdom" series broke the saying 'There's no better than the first' by repeating twist after twist. This is why viewers around the world are anxiously waiting for season 3 of "Kingdom" beyond Korean fans.
