Yale to Offer Lectures on Korean Films

Yale University will offer lectures on modern South Korean films from spring semester.

Yale professor of Korean Choi Seung-ja said Monday that the lectures will focus on movies produced after the 1960s, including "The Aimless Bullet", "Mother and a Guest" and the recent cult hit "Oldboy".

Joining Yale in the 1990s, Choi said students will probably like the filming techniques and sophisticated plot of "Oldboy, which the university will screen in the third week of April.

She also said interest in the Korean language and culture is rising steadily, though not to the level of Chinese.
