Yeon Sang-ho Helms Netflix "Jung E" Starring Kang Soo-yeon, Kim Hyun-joo and Ryu Kyung-soo

Netflix has confirmed the production of the SF film "Jung E" (tentative title), directed by Yeon Sang-ho, and stars Kang Soo-yeon, Kim Hyun-joo and Ryu Kyung-soo.

"Jung E" is a science fiction film about people trying to succeed in brain cloning robots of legendary mercenary "Jung E" who is the key to victory in the 22nd century when civil war breaks out in a shelter shell made by mankind, at a time when it is no longer suitable to live on Earth due to climate change. It is expected that the story will revolve around brain cloning and human-type combat robots presented by director Yeon Sang-ho, who is rewriting the future of Korean video contents such as "Train to Busan", "Peninsula" and "Hellbound".

The cast is also impressive. Kang Soo-yeon, the first Korean actress to win the Best Actress Award at the Venice Film Festival and the world's top three film festivals for a film in 1986, will meet director Yeon Sang-ho, who laid the foundation for the Korean cultural renaissance through numerous masterpieces. She stars as Seo-hyeon, the head of the research institute that develops brain cloning and AI technology and is responsible for brain cloning and combat power testing by Jung-yi. Kim Hyun-joo plays the role of Jung-yi, a former elite leader of the coalition and subject to brain cloning experiments.
