Akdong Musician's Lee Chan-hyuk Joins Marines for Military Service

Lee Chan-hyuk of the sibling duo Akdong Musician has enlisted in the Marines for his mandatory military service.

Lee's agency, YG Entertainment, said that he entered boot camp in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province on Monday for six weeks of basic training before being assigned to a unit. "We gave him a quiet send-off, in accordance with his wishes", the agency added.

Lee had spoken publicly about his desire to volunteer to join the Marines and underwent the physical test and interview.

The duo debuted after winning the audition program "K-pop Star" in 2013.
