Actors Cho Jin-woong and Choi Hee-seo are hosting the opening of the 1st Pyeongchang International Peace Film Festival.

They will be hosting the event on the outdoor stage of the Pyeongchang Olympics Stadium on the 16th from 6PM.

Cho Jin-woong's "The Spy Gone North" is also being screened at the festival.

The Pyeongchang International Peace Film Festival will be launched to pray for peace between the two Koreas. Actor Moon Sung-keun heads the board, while filmmaker Pang Eun-jin heads the executive committee. 85 films from 33 countries selected with the theme of "Unification and Peace" will be screened, and North Korean films, including "The Village Beyond" will be introduced. The closing ceremony was planned to be held at the Mount Kumgang and invitations were given out to North Korean movie stars, but the plan fell through.

The first Pyeongchang International Peace Film Festival will be held from August 16th to the 20th.
