When asked why she chose the indie film called "Paper Flower" instead of a commercial film or a drama which would draw relatively more attention, Eugene said she was just mesmerized by the script.

"I think I was fully immersed in the script almost instantly as soon as I read it", she recalled. "There's something that pulled me into, so I decided to do it. I fully enjoyed shooting and I was just happy being on set", she added.

In the film, she will show off her natural looks without heavy makeup.

Does she have any specific goals as an actress? "Clearly, I'm still 'thirsty' [for success] as an actress", she says. "I'd like to be a versatile actress who can melt into roles, rather than playing or specializing in a certain character".

The annual film festival in the port city of Busan kicks off this Thursday, screening over 300 films from some 85 countries.
