[HanCinema's News] Cha Woo-min Leaves Strong First Impression in "Brave Citizen"

Cha Woo-min is a new actor who made his debut with a named supporting role in "Weak Hero Class 1" last year. As is common for newer actors, Cha Woo-min has struggled for exposures, and wasn't even credited in marketing material for his cinematic debut in "Brave Citizen" two weeks ago. But interest has surged in the actor, who had a supporting role as Lee Moon-ki, one of several sub-bullies in the high school entourage led by the film's villain, played by Lee Jun-young.

The intrigue has been prompted in part by how genuinely unpleasant his character is, and how this contrasts with his good looks, hinting at a strong talent. Cha Woo-min started his career acting in web-dramas, rather than modeling or with more formal training, and has a fresh perspective appealing to many casting directors. Despite his obscurity, Cha Woo-min is now set to appear in several new projects.

Cha Woo-min is making the most of his youth, having turned twenty-three last month, to do various projects playing high school students. These include "Spirit Fingers" although there has been no news about that project since April, "It's Night" which has been confirmed for U+ Mobile TV on December 4th, and "Study Group" which is not expected until 2025. However, it will begin filming soon and Cha Woo-min has been described as having a leading role in the project.
