[HanCinema's News] "Extreme Job" Writer to Return With a New Drama

The drama production company Studio Anik recently confirmed that they would be moving forward on production of a new television drama from screenwriter Moon Choong-il, who is best known for his work on the film "Extreme Job" from 2019. The action comedy film deals with a police unit that attempts to conduct surveillance on a crime gang by buying out the fried chicken restaurant where the crime gang normally orders takeout. Moon Choong-il was one of four credited screenwriters.

The title of the drama adaptation is "Two Souls" although this is speculative. The literal Korean title is "투혼" which can be read many different ways. The story of "Two Souls" concerns the formerly successful entrepeneur Seon-woo who has hit rock bottom and the rock bottom character of Seong-nam who finds his own career path on an upswing. The father figure of Ga-jang also weighs heavily in the backdrop of the crime action show where both men make dangerous choices for their goals.

No actors have yet been named as possible leads, though Studio Anik has confirmed that "Two Souls" will run for twelve episodes. The casting process is currently ongoing. Studio Anik is also in negotiations with global OTT services as a possible distributor, suggesting that "Two Souls" is currently being envisioned as a Netflix style project rather than a network drama.
