Following the release of "Alienoid" in South Korean theaters, multiple South Korean municipalities have confirmed that they were used as a filming location for the fantasy film. First Mungyeong, located in North Gyeongsang province, held a press event with producer Kim Sung-min-VI, as well as representatives for the filming sites and public officials of the city, which confirmed the use of Mungyeong as a filming location. Apparently, a contract was reached in August of 2020.

Actual filming took place from January to June of 2021. Additionally, Andong, which is also located in North Gyeongsang province, confirmed that they also served as a filming location. While the Mungyeong scenes were in the modern day, Andong, or more specifically the Hahoe Folk Village, was used for scenes taking place in the distant past. Both cities expressed positive sentiments regarding their participation in "Alienoid" and expressed hope to similarly collaborate with filmmakers in the future.
