Korean War Film to Hit Screens in North America in Early October

"The Battle of Jangsari", a Korean War-themed film which drew attention here as Hollywood actress Megan Fox stars in the film, is set for release in North America next week.

"The film received a positive reception after being screened at the Toronto International Film Festival [which was held early this month]", the film's distributor said on Thursday.

The film deals with a battle that initiated the Incheon Landing, which turned the tide for South Korea and its allies during the Korean War.

The film topped the box office here on the first day of its release on Wednesday, drawing over 100,000 moviegoers and dethroning Ma Dong-seok's latest film, "The Bad Guys: Reign of Chaos", from the top spot, which it held for about two weeks.

The crime action film has attracted over 4 million viewers so far since its release on Sept. 11, according to the Korean Film Council.
