TVXQ chosen to promote fashion brand Lacoste

Singing duo TVXQ have been chosen as the new spokespersons for French fashion brand Lacoste, making them the first Koreans to do so.

SM Entertainment announced in a press release on Tuesday that TVXQ recently signed a friendship contract with Lacoste to act as promotional ambassadors for the brand.

As part of fulfilling their duties, the boys will attend Lacoste creative director Felipe Oliveira Baptista's first collection fashion show to be held in New York later this month as well as take part a fashion shoot which will take place in the city.

"We have decided on TVXQ because we believe that they have the power to increase sales and we have plans to expand Lacoste on a more global level", an official from Lacoste France was quoted as saying.

TVXQ has enjoyed high popularity in Asia as one of the leading K-pop dance groups in the music scene since their debut in 2004.

They have enjoyed great success in the Japanese music industry in particular and were recently in Japan with fellow SM Entertainment labelmates for the "SMTOWN Live World Tour in Tokyo Special Edition" held at the prestigious Tokyo Dome over the weekend.
