Wonder Girls Announces New Album, US Tour

K-pop group Wonder Girls will be releasing their American debut album in May and go on a U.S. concert tour in June, according to JYP Entertainment.
Wonder Girls' new album will include English versions of their hit songs "Nobody", "So Hot", and "Tell Me", and fresh tracks. They will also be holding an album release party on May 15, which will be shown live on the Web site http://www.ustream.com. American gossip blogger Perez Hilton will be hosting the event.
The album event on Ustream will be in English, but will be broadcast with Korean and Chinese subtitles.
JYP Entertainment also said Korean and Chinese versions of the Wonder Girls' album will be released at the same time as the U.S. album.
The five-member girl group will kick off its first U.S. concert tour, "Wonder World Tour", starting June 4. They will hold 20 concerts in nine cities, namely Washington, D.C., New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Anaheim and San Francisco.
Popular boy bands 2AM and 2PM will be the opening acts for the Wonder Girls in their U.S. tour.
"With the simultaneous worldwide release of their albums, live broadcast of their album party and U.S. tour, there are high expectations for the Wonder Girls. We hope this album will solidify their position in the U.S. market", JYP Entertainment said.
Wonder Girls, composed of Sohee (Ahn So-hee), Sunye, Ye-eun, Yubin and Hye Lim, has been attracting fans in the U.S. They were the opening act for popular American boy band Jonas Brothers last year, and topped the Billboard Hot Singles Sales chart in the U.S. in 2009 with their single "Nobody".
Wonder Girls debuted in early 2007 in Korea, making a big impact with three consecutive number one singles "Tell Me", "So Hot" and "Nobody". Sunmi, an original member, dropped out of the group in January and was replaced by Hye Lim.
