Young Korean-American Actor Debuts on Primetime Television

At just 12 years old, Korean-American actor Andy Kang has seized a great opportunity to gain popularity both inside and outside the U.S when he joined the cast of NBC's venerable medical drama "ER". Andy plays a key role on the Emmy Award-winning series as the boyfriend of Sarah, the daughter of lead character Tony Gates (played by John Stamos).

The long-running series now in its 13th season was created by novelist Michael Crichton and is set primarily in the emergency room of the fictional County General Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. The current season began Sept. 21, and the episode featuring Andy, titled "Parenthood", aired Oct. 12.

Andy, a native of South Pasadena, California, made his debut at the recommendation of a senior recruiter in the modeling agency, "World Wide Star Search". Featured at the Sundance Film Festival in "The Problem with Percival", Andy's career is just beginning to take off.

"Because I am the perfect image of my mother, who is a fashion model, I am not tired or bored at all during all day performances", he says, "I will do my best to become a Korean-American entertainer earning the hearts of the U.S".
