'President's Last Bang' Screening With English Subtitles

2005/03/23 | 378 views | Permalink | Source

The controversial feature film based on the assassination of President Park Chung-hee is screening with English subtitles at Chungang Cinema until April 14.

"The President's Last Bang (Kuttae Kusaramdul)" is a fictionalized account of the president's death on Oct. 26, 1979. The film came to be at the center of controversy, with conservative groups saying it dishonored the memory of the late president.

Park Ji-man, son of the president, sued the makers of the film, KangJeGyu & Myung Film, to prevent it from being released. The court ruled that the film could be shown but with documentary footage edited out.

The theater is located near exit 10 of Myongdong Station on subway line 4 or exit 12 of Uljiro 3-ga Station on subway line 2. For more information, visit Open the link (in Korean).
