Film “Don’t Look Back” Invited to International Film Festivals

Korean director Kim Young-nam has been inundated with invitations to participate in international film festivals after he won two awards at the 59th Locarno International Film Festival with his work "Don't Look Back".

The film's production company Emotion Pictures said Friday that the film has been invited to "The Focus on Asia--Fukuoka International Film Festival" in Japan, "Eurasia International Film Festival", "The Flanders International Film Festival" in Belgium, "The Thessaloniki International Film Festival" in Greece, "The Mannheim International Film Festival" in Germany, "The International Film Festival of Kerala" in India and "The Mar del Plata International Film Festival" in Argentina.

It is unusual for a director who has just produced his first long film to receive such plentiful invitations from abroad.

The film won the FIPRESCI and NETPAC awards at the film festival and screened in the cinema Seoul Film Forum. It has become the rare low-budget movie to draw more than 10,000 viewers, a number equivalent to an audience of 10 million for a blockbuster movie.
