Korean film director Park Chan-wook has been invited to show his latest movie, "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" at this year's Venice Film Festival, which runs from August 31st to September 10th.
Park's new movie, scheduled for release in Korea on Friday, is the third in his revenge trilogy, following "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" and "Old Boy".
Starring Lee Young-ae from Park's internationally acclaimed film "JSA" and Choi Min-sik who had a lead role in "Old Boy", it's about an ex-con who leaves prison and embarks on a journey of revenge.
Park Chan-wook grabbed the Grand Jury Prize for "Old Boy" at last year's Cannes Film Festival.
